WILDFLOWER

For this shoot I had two goals: master golden hour lighting and frolic through a field with my best friend. And I definitely think I accomplished both. I got a lot of inspiration from Pinterest and I always make inspo boards for all my shoots, just so I have a clear vision of the types of pictures that I want to take. I really wanted my pictures to have a care free, earthy, and flowery vibe, and I wanted to really utilize the amazing lighting during golden hour. My model for this shoot was one of my best friends who is absolutely gorgeous! I let Addison pick out her outfit for this shoot and she ended up choosing an olive green jumper and put a sheer blush top with embroidered flowers underneath it. The whole aesthetic matched perfectly with the aesthetic of the shoot. Next was picking out a location. Instead of driving out to the middle of no where to find a field perfect for frolicking, we went to this small park that had not been mowed or taken care of in a while, so it was nice and grown out with a few wild flowers sprinkled in. And surprisingly from the pictures you can’t even tell that there was a Sonic across the road!

I shoot with a Nikon D3400 and for this shoot I used my 50mm f/1.8G lens, which I absolutely love for portraits because it blurs out the background really nicely and is good in a bunch of different lighting situations. For most of my shots during this photo shoot I took them from a lower angle just to make it seem as if the field was fuller and taller, plus I did not have to edit out as many buildings in the background afterwards. This was one of my first times shooting during golden hour and I LOVED IT! For one of my favorite pics from the shoot I had Addison put one of the flowers in her mouth and did a close up shot, and I think it fully captured the vibe that I was going for. I edited all my pictures in Lightroom and then if I need to do things like take out buildings, I’ll go over to Photoshop and do that there.

Here are some of the finished pictures and thanks for reading my first blog post!
